Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-28.
These Terms of Service ("Terms", "Terms of Service") describe the conditions on which Vedic Jyoti (the website at vedicjyoti.in and any sub-domains, mobile clients and supporting services, together the "Service") is made available to you. The Service is operated by Serene Soul Jewellery, a sole proprietorship of Deepak Chaudhary ("Vedic Jyoti", "we", "us", "our"). The person who creates an account or otherwise uses the Service is referred to as "you", "your" or "Member".
By creating an account, ticking the consent boxes at signup, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, and that you accept them in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We may amend these Terms at any time by publishing an updated version on this page. Material changes will be notified by email or on the site at least 30 days before they take effect for existing Members. Continued use of the Service after a change is published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Except for such updates, these Terms may only be modified by a written instrument signed by both parties.
1. About the Service
Vedic Jyoti delivers personalised Vedic-astrology content, software, and consultations — including:
- Free Services: the public birth-chart (Kundli) generator, the daily panchang and horoscope, festival calendars, articles, and other content available without payment.
- Paid Services: personalised written reports (Brihat Kundli, Premium Kundli, Career, Marriage, Finance, Health, Varshphal, etc.), one-to-one consultations with verified astrologers ("Acharyas"), online poojas, and the shop for gemstones, rudraksha, yantras and related goods.
Some of the Paid Services rely on third-party suppliers (chart computation, AI assistance, payment processing, hosting, SMS/WhatsApp and email delivery). A list of the principal processors is set out in the Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
The Service is available only to natural persons who are legally capable of entering into a binding contract under applicable law. You must be at least 18 years old. The Service is not available to:
- minors;
- residents of any jurisdiction where the Service would be unlawful; or
- persons or entities subject to applicable trade-control, sanctions or similar restrictions.
By using the Service you represent that none of these disqualifications apply to you.
3. Account and registration data
To access the Paid Services you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete and current information at signup (the "Registration Data") and to keep it updated. Your account is personal:
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
- You are responsible for every action taken from your account, whether or not you authorised it.
- You must not transfer, sell or share your account or wallet credits.
- You must notify us promptly at support@vedicjyoti.in if you suspect unauthorised use of your account or any security incident.
4. Our access to your account
So that we can deliver high-quality support, investigate complaints and comply with applicable law, you agree that authorised members of our team may access your account and associated records on a case-by-case basis. Such access is limited to what is reasonably necessary and is logged.
5. Modification, suspension and termination
We may modify, suspend, restrict or discontinue any part of the Service (including your account) at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you or any third party. Without limiting the foregoing, we may terminate your account immediately if we believe that:
(a) we cannot verify the information you provided; (b) your actions may create legal exposure for you, Vedic Jyoti or other Members; (c) you have submitted false or misleading information; (d) you have interfered with the Service, other Members, our Acharyas or our suppliers; or (e) you have breached these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy or any applicable law.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable laws. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and may be updated on the same basis as set out in the preamble above.
7. Refunds and cancellation
Our Refund Policy sets out the full rules for refunds and cancellations across reports, wallet credits, Acharya consultations, poojas, subscriptions and shop items, along with the process for raising a request. Please read it in full — by using the Paid Services you accept the Refund Policy.
8. Acceptable use
Your right to use the Service is personal and non-commercial. You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law, regulation or court order in India or elsewhere;
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to circumvent the Service, our rate limits, security, or the networks supporting them;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, infringing, or otherwise objectionable;
- send unsolicited promotional messages, chain letters or spam through the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or data; or
- resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or any part of it without our prior written consent.
9. No use of our content to train AI models
You agree that no content, data, software, design, computed chart, report or other material made available through the Service may be used, directly or indirectly, to train, fine-tune, evaluate or develop any artificial-intelligence model, machine-learning system, foundation model, LLM, embedding, dataset or derivative work, whether automated or manual. This includes (but is not limited to) scraping, mirroring, downloading in bulk, screen-capturing or otherwise extracting content from the Service.
The only exception is search-engine crawling that respects our
robots.txt and X-Robots-Tag directives.
Unauthorised use for AI-training purposes will be treated as a material breach of these Terms and may give rise to civil and criminal proceedings, including claims for injunctive relief and damages. We reserve the right to monitor and enforce this clause and to update it at any time without prior notice.
10. AI-assisted content (transparency)
The longer prose in our reports and some on-platform answers are produced with the help of large-language-model AI, constrained to your computed chart and reviewed against deterministic computations. We disclose this because we want you to read those sections with appropriate judgement. We do not guarantee that AI-assisted text is free from error and we do not present it as professional medical, legal or financial advice.
11. Nature of the Service — not professional advice
Astrology readings, remedies, poojas and recommendations on Vedic Jyoti are offered for personal reflection only. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified doctor, lawyer, chartered accountant, financial adviser or other professional. Vedic-astrology interpretations are inherently subjective, and remedies (mantra, gemstone, yantra, daan, pooja) are traditional practices, not prescriptions. You make all decisions about your life at your own discretion.
12. Blocking, suspension and permanent deactivation
We may, at our sole discretion and at any time, block, restrict or suspend a Member's access to all or part of the Service — including the Acharya panel, the wallet and the shop — without prior notice. Grounds include suspected fraud, repeated breach of these Terms, conduct detrimental to other Members or our Acharyas, or where the law requires us to do so. We will not be liable for any loss arising out of a block or suspension that we apply in good faith.
In the event of repeated violations or serious misconduct we may permanently deactivate the account. Wallet balance forfeited as a result of permanent deactivation for cause is non-refundable, subject to the consumer-protection rules referenced in our Refund Policy.
13. Payments, taxes and wallet credits
- All payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see, store or control your card or bank details.
- Prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may issue GST-compliant invoices where required.
- Sale prices, when displayed, are the amount you actually pay.
- Wallet credits are non-transferable and have no independent cash value.
14. Subscriptions
Where you subscribe to a recurring plan (for example the ₹199 Monthly plan), the subscription will renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account — your benefits then continue until the end of the current cycle. The Refund Policy explains the rules for accidental renewals and mid-cycle cancellations.
15. Intellectual property
All software, text, images, designs, brand marks, layouts, report templates and other content on the Service are the property of Vedic Jyoti or our licensors and are protected by Indian and international copyright, trade-mark, patent and other laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Service and to use your personalised report for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, create derivative works of, or commercially exploit any part of the Service.
16. User-submitted content
You retain ownership of the personal information, birth details and messages you submit. You grant Vedic Jyoti a worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, process, transmit, display and use that content solely to deliver the Service to you (including computing your chart, generating your report, routing your messages to the Acharya, and complying with law).
17. No warranty
The Service and all content provided through it are made available on an "as is" and "as available" basis, with all faults. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers disclaim all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted operation. We make no warranty that:
- the Service will meet your specific requirements;
- the Service will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free at all times;
- the results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable;
- any errors or defects will be corrected.
No oral or written advice from any Vedic Jyoti team member or Acharya creates a warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
18. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Vedic Jyoti, our directors, employees, suppliers or Acharyas be liable to you or any third party for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or the cost of substitute goods or services — arising out of or in connection with the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service, however caused, is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₹10,000 (Indian Rupees ten thousand).
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Vedic Jyoti and its affiliates, directors, employees, Acharyas, suppliers and agents from any third-party claim, demand, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your breach of these Terms, the Privacy Policy or the Refund Policy, or (c) your violation of any law or any third-party right, including intellectual-property and privacy rights.
20. Additional terms — Acharya consultations
Acharya consultations are delivered by independent astrologers verified by Vedic Jyoti. The following additional terms apply:
- We are a platform. We facilitate the session, handle payment, and hold the Acharya to our community standards, but we do not control the detailed content of every conversation. You use this Service at your own risk and remain responsible for decisions you make based on a consultation.
- Full disclosure. For the Acharya to advise meaningfully you should disclose any emotional, mental or physical condition relevant to your question. Acharyas may decline a consultation if they believe the matter requires a qualified medical, legal or mental-health professional.
- No off-platform contact. You must not share, request, or accept personal contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, WhatsApp/Telegram/Messenger identifiers, social-media profiles, off-platform payment details, etc.) during or after a consultation, whether for further sessions or otherwise. You must not invite an Acharya to meet you in person.
- No personal data sharing. You must not share personally identifiable information about third parties (friends, family, colleagues) — including contact numbers, addresses or bank details — during a session.
Vedic Jyoti is not liable for any loss arising out of a breach of these restrictions, off-platform transactions or in-person interactions.
21. Additional terms — online poojas and shop
Online poojas are scheduled at a muhurat agreed with you and performed by trained priests. Shop items (gemstones, rudraksha, yantras) are sourced from verified suppliers; gemstones are accompanied by an appropriate certificate of authenticity. The Refund Policy sets out the rules for cancellation, defective items and returns.
22. Third-party services
The Service uses third-party processors — currently AstrologyAPI (chart computation), Anthropic (AI), Razorpay (payments), Supabase (auth & data), Resend (email), Twilio / Supabase Phone (SMS / WhatsApp), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (analytics) and Sentry (error monitoring). Your use of the Service is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We may replace any processor at any time; the Privacy Policy will reflect the current list.
23. Notices
Notices to you will be sent to the email address associated with your account and will be deemed received 24 hours after sending. Notices to us must be in writing and sent either by email to support@vedicjyoti.in or by post to:
Vedic Jyoti / Serene Soul Jewellery (sole prop. of Deepak Chaudhary) [Registered office address], India
24. Dispute resolution and arbitration
You and Vedic Jyoti will try in good faith to resolve any dispute informally first. If we cannot, the dispute will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration before a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (India). The seat and venue of arbitration will be Aligarh, India and the language will be English. Either party may approach the courts at Aligarh, India for urgent interim relief. The award will be final and binding.
The decision to arbitrate does not limit your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
25. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to Clause 24, the courts at Aligarh, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter arising out of these Terms.
26. General provisions
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest will continue in full force and effect; the unenforceable provision will be amended to achieve, as closely as possible, its original intent within the limits of the law.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or to a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Vedic Jyoti relating to the Service and supersede any prior understanding on the same subject.
- Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
27. Grievance Officer and contact
In compliance with the DPDP Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, our Grievance Officer is contactable via the dedicated Grievance Officer page. All other queries should go to support@vedicjyoti.in.
