Krishnamurti Paddhati — KP system
KP is a 20th-century refinement of Vedic astrology by Sri K.S. Krishnamurti. It uses the KP ayanamsa (a small offset from Lahiri), an unequal-house system based on cusps, and a granular sub-lord theory that makes it the preferred method for horary questions.
Vedic Jyoti exposes KP at three layers: pick the KP ayanamsa on any chart, look up today's ruling planets, or cast a horary chart from a 1–249 number alone (no birth time needed).
Generate any birth chart with the KP ayanamsa. On the free-kundli form, open Advanced Settings → choose 'KP New' (or KP Old / KP Khullar).
The five lords governing the current moment & place — day-lord, lagna sign-lord, lagna star-lord, moon sign-lord, moon star-lord. Updates every second.
Cast a chart from a number 1–249 instead of a birth time. Used to answer 'Will it happen?' style questions in real time.
The standard daily panchang re-computed with the KP ayanamsa. Tithi / nakshatra / yoga / karana shift by ~7 arc-minutes versus Lahiri.
How KP differs from classical Parashari
- Ayanamsa: KP uses a slightly different sidereal correction (~23°43' for 2026, vs ~24°10' for Lahiri).
- Houses: Placidus cusps, not equal houses — each house has a definite degree.
- Sub-lord theory: Each degree has a sign-lord, star-lord, AND a sub-lord. The sub-lord is the strongest signifier.
- Horary: The native picks a number 1–249, which fixes the lagna directly — no birth time required.
